In her response to our post, Riki Moss explains some of the important points she felt she needed to make about her book An Obese White Gentleman in No Apparent Distress, or as she refers to it OWG. I started reading the book with little knowledge about who it was about, mainly, who Terry Dobson was. I have seen videos of O-Sensei throwing around a big Western person but I didn't know who that person was.
The following is a famous story is by Terry Dobson. I have read it in several books - both aikido and love themed - as well as on the Internet. This story is a very good example of what aikido is really about. A new book based on his life titled An Obese White Gentleman in No Apparent Distress is out now. The book also contains this story.
