I have just finished reading another book. This time it is a hardcore aikido book, so hardcore that I didn't understand a lot of the concepts mentioned. The book is by O-Sensei Morihei Ueshiba, it is The Secret Teachings of Aikido, and the following is my subjective review of it.
I started reading the book with little knowledge about who it was about, mainly, who Terry Dobson was. I have seen videos of O-Sensei throwing around a big Western person but I didn't know who that person was.
There is a movie that is not about aikido, not even Japanese and I was very sceptical about before watching it. It is The Forbidden Kingdom. I was afraid of its being too Hollywood-like, too shallow or boring. Maybe I was just able to see the positive parts that I was prepared to see but I think the movie is great. Here's why:
